The Powertex Flat Braided Wire Sling FWS is a flexible, cut-resistant steel wire lifting sling designed for controlled, stable load handling in industrial environments. It is manufactured from 10 galvanized 6x19M-WSC steel wire ropes braided together to create a flat lifting surface. This construction provides high flexibility combined with a wide contact area, helping distribute the load more evenly.
The FWS is suited for advanced lifting operations that require flexible yet cut-resistant slings. Each lot is break-tested before delivery and is fully traceable to its raw materials.
When to choose this product
- When you need a flexible steel wire sling that adapts well to loads
- When you want improved load contact compared to traditional round wire rope slings
- When your operation requires cut-resistant slings
It operates from -40°C to +150°C, making it suitable for both cold outdoor sites and hot industrial environments.
Product Benefits
-
Flat braided construction made from 10 steel wire ropes
Provides greater flexibility and a wider load contact surface than standard wire rope slings, helping improve load stability and reduce pressure points on the lifted object. -
Made from robust and galvanized steel wire ropes
The wire ropes offer higher safety against abrasion and cutting compared to textile slings. They also deliver predictable strength and durability, while galvanization helps protect against corrosion in everyday industrial environments. -
Equipped with an aluminium conical ferrule with an inspection hole
Conical ferrules prevent the sling from getting caught, while the inspection hole allows visual inspection, simplifying routine checks and reducing the risk of undetected damage. -
Fatigue tested according to EN 13411-3
Verified performance under cyclic loading, supporting safe use in repeated lifting operations. - Lot break tested
Samples of each lot are break-tested to ensure the safety factor is met. -
ID marking with full traceability to raw material
The sling's ID Marking links to its test certificate, simplifying documentation, audits, and compliance verification. -
Clear marking on the ferrule
Marked with brand, ID number, WLL, type, length, date of manufacture, and CE. This makes inspection and identification straightforward on-site and helps prevent misuse. -
Compliant with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and NORSOK R-002
Supports use in regulated industries where documented conformity is required.
